China has no time to give up, and opportunities for learning and to select only

Dr. Jiang Zhipei at the Judges Conference in Brussels on May 25 said:

Foreign media reported that in 2011, the number of patent applications in China is expected to overtake Japan and the United States, and gradually becoming one of the world's most innovative countries in the world.

But China still has lots to do.  The huge progress also reminds the world that the country still has a lot of issues to work out before its level of innovation reaches that of the United States, Europe or Japan.  Leading in the patent application volume doesn't necessarily mean we have yet become the world's top innovator.

Dr. Jiang also said:

During the term of establishing the patent system in China, China learn from other countries of the world; especially learn more from German and the United State. We may find many of patent mechanisms in China that are just the characteristics of German or the United States.  China has no time to give up, and opportunities for learning and to select only. Therefore patent sociality in China is very concerned any reform and changes of the patent regime in the United State and German or Europe.

However China is a very huge market in the world and it’s one of the fastest and largest economies of the world. Its reform of the patent system will have a significant impact to the whole world…
