On behalf of AIPPI-Korea, LES-Korea I am honored to invite you to <the Seoul
2008 International Conference> on “Intellectual Property & Commercialization”, to be held from 24 (Fri.) October to 26(Sun.) October 2008 at the Westin Chosun Hotel under the theme of “Intellectual Assets Management and Commercialization”.
Since 1994, the I.P. International Conference has been held in Korea and conducted by AIPPI-Korea with Cooperation with LES-Korea and APAA-Korea.

This year’s conference will feature informative and practical presentations and provide delegates with many
opportunities to participate in interesting discussions on a variety of topics related to intellectual property
with a focus on commercialization.
This meeting in Seoul is timely and important in many ways, because AIPPI-Korea is preparing for the 43rd
Seoul AIPPI Intellectual Property World Congress to take place in 2012.It is expected that about 6,000 I.P.
professionals from around the world will attend this congress. I am very sure that through this Meeting we
can improve ourselves to host the upcoming Congress in 2012 successfully.
Exciting programs and valuable information await you. I am sure the Seoul 2008 I.P. International Conference will provide many opportunities to tap into a better global perspective and directions of Intellectual Property field in the future.

Transportation
A scheduled limousine bus service operates from outside the arrival terminal at Inchon (seoul) International Airport.
Buses depart approximately every 15 minutes and take about 70 minutes to reach the city center. A one-way ticket costs
approximately USD 10, and can be purchased at the front of the terminal. Please indicate your destination when
purchasing a ticket and you will be directed to the appropriate bus.
Weather
October is an ideal time of the year to visit Korea as the autumn scenery is at its most beautiful. The weather is pleasant
at this time of the year and the temperature ranges between 12˚C and 20˚C.

▪ Incheon
Incheon, as one of the best seaport cities in Korea, is making itself the world best tourist destination through using
geological advantages, exploiting natural resources and building up high-tech new towns.
▪ Ganghwado Island
As a sacred ground of the foundation of the country, it is the home of ideology of "Hongik Ingan" (Devotion for
public welfare) of Dangun, the founding father of the first Korean kingdom. Ganghwado has preserved many
cultural relics as scattered around the island and developed the island for the multipurpose of historical
education and beautification of environmental surroundings for sight-seeing visitors.
▪ Jeondeungsa Temple
Jeondeungsa temple, Korea’s oldest temple, was built in 381 in the Koguryo dynasty and remodeled in 1850 during
the Chosun Dynasty. Traditional architecture and other historical remains are well preserved at this temple.
▪ Choji-Jin
Jin means “a fortress” and Choji-jin was so named as it stands at the village “Chojili.” This fortress was established
during the Chosun Dynasty in 1656 and still remains despite several major battles during the Chosun era.
