Dear colleagues,
As you know, on February 5, 2008 between the World Trade Organization (hereinafter referred to as WTO) and Ukraine the Agreement on Ukraine’s Entrance to WTO was signed. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine shall ratify signing the Agreement before July 4, 2008 (this is the deadline, the ratification may take place earlier) and 30 days after the ratification, Ukraine shall become a full member of WTO. Entrance to WTO shall open up new possibilities for such new sales market as Ukraine, trade relations between Ukraine and other member countries of WTO, export and import volumes shall increase. In connection with this, we consider the intellectual (industrial) property market of Ukraine to become more relevant. This is also facilitated by the fact that Ukraine is one of the countries, where the European Football Championship 2012 is going to be held. This Championship is one of the most attended sporting events of the world. Since recently the European and the World Football Championships attract more interest than the Olympic Games. These factors also open up huge possibilities for trade development and services providing.
But the major goal of our informational letter is to inform you about the fact that after Ukraine enters WTO the value of obtaining documents of title for industrial property objects shall increase. Your may see the main changes of these provisions enclosed (see attachment).
Thus, you may enlarge the circle of your prospective clients, having provided them with the above-mentioned information.
