u.s. secretary of commerce to speak at international judges conference -- the ipo education foundation announced today that u.s. secretary of commerce carlos m. gutierrez will speak at the luncheon next tuesday during the international judges conference on intellectual property law in washington, dc.  gutierrez came to the u.s. with his family from cuba in 1960 and rose to become the youngest ceo in the history of kellogg co. before he was appointed secretary of commerce.  he is speaking instead of uspto director jon w. dudas, who reports to him.  he is expected to address bush administration efforts to curb ip counterfeiting, piracy, and infringement.
