by chinese chairman jiang zhipei
good morning, ladies and gentlemen!
first of all, i want to present my warmest welcome to the judges, scholars, lawyers and other friends from all across the world! welcome to beijing china! welcome to our intellectual property law section!
nowadays, the science and technology is developing rapidly. science, technology and innovation are regarded as essential index of every country’s comprehensive strength. the intellect of human being is transmitted into social wealth faster than any time in history. in a rule of law society, it is necessary to adopt law, e.g. intellectual property law, to stimulate human’s ability and wisdom as far as possible. on this issue, most of the countries have formed common perspective regardless of the difference in wealth, culture and geographic feature. also this will be the subject to be focused together and discussed further in today’s section.
in the 21 century, most countries in this world are developing closer communication and cooperation in fields of politics, economy, culture and science. many developing countries, including china, are deeply merged into the globalization trend of international economy development. furthermore, the harmonization of the rules is also becoming a trend hard to be changed. intellectual property system has already been set up as an international rule, acting as one of the three pillars of global economy communication and cooperation, together with the goods trade and service trade. intellectual property issues are also becoming the most important focus between developed and developing countries. intellectual property is not only domestic question for any country. for developing countries, the establishment and development of their ip system mainly are driven by the domestic demand from the economic and social condition. but it is also necessary to refer to and learn from other countries’ experiences, especially the western developed countries. of course, we are sincerely expecting that the future international ip rules would reflect more interests, wisdom and voice from developing countries. we feel very excited that today we have such a precious opportunity to convening so many judges, scholars, lawyers and other legal professions to be in the ip section for the world congress on law, to exchange your valuable ideas, to discuss on ip hot issues, to look ahead of ip futures. thank you, the friends from europe, usa, south korea, venezuela and wipo, thank you for your sparkling wisdom, knowledge and ideas. you are the brilliant center of today’s discussion.
i deeply believe, today, we are gathering at beijing china to discuss history and prospect the future; tomorrow, the whole world intellectual property history will surely record this splendid page!
last but not least, i would like to wish a very successful meeting, and wish all friends a very happy life!
thanks to all, i will now leave the limited time to the speaker’s instructive speeches.
